Carla comes from a typical, hardworking, blue-collar family. She was called to become an attorney from an early age as she demonstrated her zeal and aptitude for argument and advocacy. During her studies at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA and The School of Law at Duquesne University, she honed those skills. She is admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania since 1993 and in West Virginia since 2008.
Carla began working with asbestos-harmed individuals as a law clerk in 1989, quickly recognizing the opportunity to positively impact the lives of the injured worker and their families, and the importance of that work. More than 30 years later, Carla is honored to continue her representation of the injured in Pennsylvania, West Virginia and other East Coast states. She understands that clear and honest communication with her clients is key. She takes care to explain the legal process to them at every step of the way, and to shepherd them through their case. She knows that the myriad of medical appointments, health and personal challenges her client face after their mesothelioma diagnosis can be overwhelming, therefore she strives to ensure this process is not a burden. From the first meeting to the trial or resolution of the case, Carla is always present for her clients.
She has secured millions of dollars on her clients’ behalf while championing their rights, and is dedicated to continue this rewarding work. She is a formidable opponent to the asbestos companies and their lawyers. Her command of the discovery process and motion practice has forced the asbestos companies to produce the evidence of their wrong-doing many times over, resulting in winning cases. She is well known for her preparedness in court and her knowledge of procedure and the law. As part of the team at Nemeroff Law Firm, she established winning law at the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, on two separate occasions to ensure the rights of workers abandoned by Workers Compensation and Occupational Disease laws, to access the court system for their mesothelioma.
When not working for her clients, Carla focuses on family and various animal rescues in her area. She enjoys taking to the open road on her motorcycle when she has the opportunity, and attends as many Steelers games as she can.
