Altoona and Logan Valley Electric Railway Company (“Logan Valley”) began operating in the late 1800s. Employing as many as 300 employees, Logan Valley owned up to 56 miles at its peak in 1928. As automobiles increasingly became the preferred form of transportation, the streetcars were utilized less and less until Logan Valley ran its last streetcar in 1954.
