Built in 1971, the Gulf Oil Alliance Refinery has been owned and operated by various companies throughout its operation. The current owner, Tosco, purchased the facility from BP Amoco in the early 2000s.  The refinery processes light, low-sulfur crude oil and employs over 850 workers, including contractors.

Currently owned by Tosco, the Alliance Refinery has been owned by various companies over the years, including Gulf Oil (Chevron), BP Amoco, Phillip 66, and Conoco Phillips.  BP Amoco purchased the facility from Gulf Oil in the mid-1980s, and Tosco purchased the facility from BP Amoco in the early 2000s.

Located on approximately 2,437 acres along the Mississippi River in Belle Chasse, LA, the refinery processes 250,000 barrels of crude oil per day.  In operation since 1971, the facility employs over 850 workers and contractors.
