Operating in Plaquemine Parish since the 1940s, the Chevron Oak Point Plant covers 100 acres of property on the west bank of the Mississippi River near Belle Chasse, LA.  The Oak Point Plant is currently owned by Chevron’s subsidiary, Chevron Oronite, and manufactures fuel and lubricant additives.

Since its construction in the 1940s in response to increased need for fuel additives during WWII, the Oak Point plant in Belle Chasse, LA, has expanded and evolved over time.  Commonly referred to as the “Oak Point Plant,” the facility is owned by Chevron’s subsidiary, Chevron Oronite.  Employing several hundred workers and contractors, the plant currently supplies 16 percent of the world’s market for oil and gasoline additives.
