Located in the Granite Mining District, the Big Pass Group Mines began production in 1953. The main deposits of the Big Pass Group Mines were silver and molybdenum but the site also contained a form of asbestos (tremolite). The mine is no longer active.

A past producer of silver and molybdenum, the Big Pass Group Mines also contained tremolite, a form of asbestos. The Big Pass Group Mines included the Blue Star Mine and the Pass Canyon mines. Mining operations began in the 1950s and have since discontinued.
