Built in 1948, Chevron’s Salt Lake City Refinery has been a major player in Utah’s oil industry. Producing gasoline, Jet-A, JP-8 and low-sulphur diesel, the Chevron refinery has employed hundreds of workers throughout its operation. The refinery currently employs approximately 340 workers.

After Chevron discovered the Rangely crude oil field in Western Colorado, Chevron opened its Salt Lake City Refinery in 1948. Still in operation, the refinery is open 24-hours per day and produces a variety of petroleum products, including gasoline, Jet-A, JP-8 and low-sulphur diesel. Chevron operates two pipelines connected to the refinery: one pipeline comes from Summit County, Utah, and the other from Rangely, Colorado. The refinery has employed hundreds of workers throughout its operation and currently employs approximately 340 workers.
